| Paternity test with mother |
| |
The maximum certainty of the paternity test is obtained by the analysis of the child’s mother's DNA. The DNA paternity test gives a degree of accuracy from 99.99% to 99.999999%. The exact value is given by the results of descent character combinations transmitted from the father to the child.
Moreover the accuracy of the test does not depend on the origin of the sample used for the analysis. DNA, for example, can be drawn by a toothbrush, a dummy, a used paper handkerchief or from blood. Hair is less suitable for a descent analysis.
Note that the research of a genetic profile does not give information about genetic diseases or characteristics, for example skin, hair or eye color.
